I’m Paige, a person-centred therapeutic counsellor offering online video and phone counselling sessions to adults.

There’s no denying it – being a human really can be tough.

We can find ourselves stuck in life, overwhelmed by thoughts and behaviours that seem to trap us. We can end up cycling through unhelpful patterns in our relationships, work, or other areas of life, struggling to take a step forward. And we can sit questioning who we are, what our purpose is for our time on Earth, and how we’ll ever find a way through our personal challenges.

Life can be confusing, stressful and at times painful. You don’t have to face these experiences alone. I believe that counselling can help.

My Approach

The type of therapeutic counselling I offer is called person-centred counselling. In this type of talking therapy, our sessions will be focussed on what’s going on for you in your life, and how it feels to be you.

As your counsellor, I’ll listen to you, without judgement, striving to understand your unique experience of life. We’ll work together to develop a clear picture of your world. By feeling truly heard, you may begin to relate to your experiences in new ways and gain a clearer and deeper understanding of what you’re going through.

As a result, you may identify things that you want to change in your life and things that you want to accept. You may begin to see ways forward that you couldn’t see before, discovering new inner resources and resilience. In our sessions, you can be assured that there’s no wrong answer – there’s only what feels right for you.

I’ve supported clients facing a range of issues including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, stress and low self-esteem. I also feel I have a strong awareness of certain challenges that adults and young adults are facing, including social media, anxiety around the climate and ecological crisis, and education and workplace pressures.

I believe each of us are the experts in our own experiences, so I won’t offer you advice. Instead, I’ll offer a confidential and non-judgemental space, just for you, where we can work together to explore your options.

When we go to family, friends, and peers we can worry about what they think of us or feel inclined to take advice we’re not sure about. By reconnecting with what’s authentically ‘you’ in a safe, therapeutic space, I believe you can begin to take your own advice and take steps towards feeling realigned with who you are.

Qualifications & Experience

I qualified as a professional therapeutic counsellor in 2021. As a young adult, I experienced my own mental health issues and sought help through talking therapy which allowed me to move through these struggles. It was these personal experiences that then inspired me to train in therapeutic counselling.

I follow the BACP Ethical Framework in my practice and follow their requirements for continuing professional development (CPD). I have regular clinical supervision to help me support my clients in the best way I possibly can.

The person-centred approach to counselling focusses on each client’s individual experiences of life. This approach means I can work with clients facing a wide range of issues in a safe, supportive, and effective way.

During my professional training, I worked at two community counselling agencies, offering online video, phone and face to face sessions with adult and young adult clients. I also volunteered at the Samaritans helpline for three years, providing emotional listening support to people in distress by telephone, email, text and face to face.
